Singapore's aviation sector to get additional S$84m to support firms, workers amid COVID-19
Singaporean pilots will receive help to keep their skills current and be retrained to fly other aircraft in the future. Retrenched pilots returning to Singapore with foreign licenses can also apply for a local license to work in the country. The boost is part of an additional S$84 million support for the hard-hit aviation sector to help companies and workers. This follows the two packages that were announced in February and August — amounting to nearly S$300 million — to prop up the industry.
