Whilst deadly – the coronavirus danger ‘has been wildly exaggerated’: Bolt

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says “the evidence is becoming overwhelming” that the danger of the deadly coronavirus “was wildly exaggerated” and is nothing like what we’ve been told.

In New South Wales the rate of new infections of the pandemic have actually been declining in past days.

Mr Bolt said while newspaper headlines claimed hundreds-of-thousands of deaths would be felt in Australia, that expectation “is not going to happen”.

Mr Bolt said the government’s reaction to the coronavirus has been “devastating,” effectively putting “more than 100,000 people out of work”.

“There’s still a long way to go, and more people will die … but the silver lining there is that in no way do we look like running out of intensive care beds in just four day’s time – which was last week’s scare.”

Mr Bolt said the government’s JobKeeper package “looks like being the most economically devastating reaction to a scare in Australian history”.

Also, “How frighteningly quick we’ve been to surrender freedoms that we once sent soldiers to fight for – and die for … Australians are now kept virtual prisoners in their own homes,” he said.

“The time is fast coming when our governments can afford to change tack … in fact they’ll have to, because the cost of this approach is horrendous – in money, in our mental health and in our freedom”.
